Terms of Service

Jottary is a personal journaling tool. It helps you capture thoughts through voice or text, organize them, and reflect on patterns over time.

Jottary is not a medical service, therapy tool, mental health treatment, or crisis resource. It is not a substitute for professional care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

Jottary uses AI to generate transcriptions, titles, mood labels, themes, people mentions, insights, and chit-chat responses. These outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent. They are provided as a reflection aid, not as factual analysis or professional advice.

Do not rely on AI-generated content for medical, legal, financial, or other consequential decisions.

You own what you create. Your journal entries, recordings, and images belong to you.

By using Jottary, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the service — including sending content to our AI provider (OpenAI) for transcription, analysis, and search functionality. We do not use your content for any other purpose.

You agree not to:

• Use Jottary to store or transmit content that violates any law.
• Attempt to access other users' data or interfere with the service.
• Use automated tools to scrape, overload, or abuse the service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Jottary is currently in Early Access. Features may change, be added, or be removed. We are actively developing the product and appreciate your patience.

If we introduce paid plans, we will notify you before any billing begins. You will never be charged without clear notice and the opportunity to opt in or cancel.

We aim to keep Jottary available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

You can delete your account at any time from the Account settings page. Deleting your account permanently removes all your data.

We may also terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or that have been inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice when possible.

Jottary is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jottary and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $0 during Early Access).

We may update these terms as Jottary evolves. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of Jottary after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
